Breathwork To Improve Immunity, Movement, Sleep & Reduce Anxiety

Held in The Barn Studio

Morning Workshop 10:00am – 1:00pm

Workshop: £54 per person

Description:

A combination of science-based light, slow and deep breathing techniques, gentle diaphragmatic stretches, simple yoga-style exercises to complement the practice, with a guided meditation to close the session.

Practised seated, lying down or walking. Nasal breathing only with the mouth closed and some tolerable breath-holds.

Benefits of regular breathwork practice include:

  • Improve lung function & reduce breathlessness

  • Increase flexibility of rib cage and diaphragm

  • Improve tolerance to CO2 (your stress response)

  • Improve oxygen uptake in the body

  • Improve immunity

  • Reduce anxiety

  • Enhance sleep quality

  • Build confidence

What you will enjoy on the day

  • Practical, guided breathing exercises to learn how to balance your nervous system

  • The science behind breathing – understand how your breathing patterns influence mind and body

  • Focus on nasal breathing and using the diaphragm

  • Gentle yoga-style stretches to support movement of breathing muscles

  • Walking meditation in nature, weather permitting

  • Opportunity to ask questions throughout

  • Hot drinks and healthy snacks can be purchased during comfort breaks at the on-site Crow Spotter Café.

What to wear and bring with you

Comfortable, non-restrictive clothing.  Recommend a sports bra for women as underwire can affect the movement of the diaphragm and ribcage.

Your own mat, small cushion/yoga block to sit on/for under your head, water bottle, something warm to cover yourself with, hand sanitiser (some provided on-site).

Please note

This workshop is not suitable for individuals with severe lung conditions, illness or who are pregnant. If in any doubt, please speak to your medical practitioner first or get in touch with Tracey directly.

Lovely Feedback

“Amazing insightful workshop. Tracey is such a wonderful guide and the knowledge she shared was life-changing. I found it could be applied to many areas - yoga, anxiety and everyday life! Also loved the beautiful meditation.”  B.L.

" Breathing from the diaphragm rather than the chest and nasal breathing have been a revelation and improved my sleep massively - even during particularly hormonal times - for this alone I would highly recommend Tracey's workshop. Also for the calming, meditative exercises to still the mind." - A.C.

" My concentration and focus has improved and I feel more refreshed, like I’ve reset a button in my head.”  M.L.

“ Tracey is a fantastic teacher - explaining every aspect clearly and precisely. I'm excited to be learning and reaping the benefits, including better sleep, exercise recovery, and overall looking after myself.”  S.G.

" I wake up feeling energised. It has also given me more confidence, both physically and mentally.” C.T.

About Tracey

Tracey Howes is an Advanced Oxygen Advantage Instructor and competitive freediver based in Bournemouth.

Freediving is a form of underwater diving that relies on breath-holding until resurfacing rather than the use of breathing apparatus. This specialist training combined with Tracey’s knowledge of functional breathing techniques provides a unique perspective when working with clients to improve their overall health and wellbeing.

By incorporating scientifically proven breathwork techniques into daily practice and training programmes, Tracey’s clients have transformed their breathing habits to build confidence, improve resilience and sleep quality, reduce anxiety and stress, train for marathons and prepare to swim The English Channel.

Tracey is particularly interested in women’s breathing with medical evidence supporting ongoing research into how hormonal changes impact breathing patterns.

The eternal student, Tracey is passionate about sharing breathing education and practical exercises which can be applied in day-to-day activities with meaningful, measurable and long-lasting results.
