“You must learn to let go. Release the stress. You were never in control anyway.” ~Steve Maraboli
This yoga retreat morning is all about letting go of worries and fears, as we dive deeply into the exploration of the sacred power of trust. Surrender does NOT mean to give up or move away from focused intention. Surrender literally means to stop fighting. Stop fighting with yourself. Stop fighting the universe and the natural flow of things. Stop resisting and pushing against reality.
There is a peaceful, yet focused energy that accompanies holding the intention of what we want, but not forcing. Surrendering means we relax into the shifting landscape. We let go of trying to control and micromanage everything, and smile with friendliness at the world as it is, beautiful and amazing.
The morning will begin with a grounding meditation to centre and connect inwards. A slow flowing yoga practice will awaken our senses and open the physical body. Gentle breathwork to find more ease and release. The workshop will finish with an extended deep relaxation Yoga Nidra meditation (lying comfortably), to sink into a state of easy, open awareness and inner peace. There will be opportunity for personal reflection and journalling throughout the morning.
The morning will look something like this:
· 9:30am – Welcome, Settling and Grounding Meditation
· 10.00am – Surrender to now Exercise & Meditation
· 10:30am – Gentle Flowing Yoga Practice
· 11:30am – Breathwork
· 11.45am – Blissful Yoga Nidra
