Join Alice Flynn & Louise Furmenger for a nourishing celebration of being, created for sharing simple pleasures, celebrating your fullness and honouring your journey.
Our intention for this retreat is to hold a nurturing and sacred space in which we can gather together in rest and play, a day where you will leave feeling your body & nervous system in balance, tension released and your heart full. This is a space where all is welcome – come as you are and feel yourself held and supported by the practices, your hosts, and by nature.
This retreat is open to cis women, trans women, non-binary people, those with a cervix.
The retreat will include:
A morning meditation.
Yoga practice for grounding and opening to your innate vibrancy.
Creative reflection in the form of journaling and a group sharing circle. This time will be one for honouring your unique journey, celebrating the growth along the way and all that you are now and all that you are growing and growing into.
A delicious plant-based lunch prepared by Crow Spotter, the in-house culinary creatives at The Retreat, whose food is rooted in conscious, natural living.
A cacao dance & movement journey - another plant-based ritual for healing, integration and joy. For this, we’ll share ceremonial grade cacao for its uplifting and heart-opening properties, as we dance to a curated playlist specifically designed to take you on a rich, transformational, soulful movement journey of celebration.
A nourishing and restful Gong Bath for deep relaxation and grounding.
Closing circle and afternoon tea and treats.
About Ceremonial Cacao:
Cacao is a sacred non-psychoactive plant medicine. It is rich in antioxidants and minerals and can evoke the bliss chemicals in the body, enabling a gentle journey of deep discovery and a receiving of inner guidance from the wisdom of the heart.
We will be sharing Cacao from Common Roots Cacao - an emerging collaboration between two local women (Louise Furmenger & Jo Cruickshanks) and a 100% Mayan owned, all indigenous women’s collective producing artisanal Guatemalan grown Ceremonial Cacao. A collective of women who invite you to drink with the awareness that you are accessing thousands of years of indigenous practice of listening to the earth, nature and the body. Women who are whole-heartedly committed to remembering and recalibrating to the natural art of flourishing.
For the ceremonial grade cacao to work its heart-opening magic, please avoid caffeine and dairy on the day of the ceremony.
There will be Cacao on sale on the day if you wish to purchase some for exploring at home.
Contraindications:
If you are taking anti-depressants or heart medication, please consult your doctor before drinking cacao. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consider the theobromine in cacao is a stimulant, so a lower dose is recommended. If you have a heart condition please consult your doctor before drinking ceremonial grade cacao as it significantly increases the heart rate and is a vasodilator, opening blood vessels, increasing blood flow and reducing blood pressure if it is high.
Practicalities:
Please bring a yoga mat, water bottle, journal and pen/pencil, 2 blankets and a cushion for your comfort.
Please wear clothes you can move freely in, ideally layers for warmth/cool.
As a symbol of celebrating yourself, we invite you, if you wish, to wear or bring an item that makes you feel good. E.g. Wear your favourite earrings as adornment, wear your favourite colours or your favourite essential oil.
Optional: Bring a single, small item for our collective altar. Something that represents an aspect of you/your journey that you are celebrating.
We will adhere to COVID-19 regulations and the retreat will take place in a well-ventilated room.
